De Real facts on de Last Supper!! Part-I

1) Is it true that a murderer is hidden in the painting of the Last Supper?

You can see the painting of the Last Supper in Milan, in the convent of S. Maria delle Grazie. The last restoration made it much brighter and “barer” than it was before. So much so that to see it as a whole, it’s easier to look at a printed reproduction.

Dan Brown referred to it in his novel "The Da Vinci Code” as proof of the fact that Leonardo wanted to send us a secret message. The apostle to the right of Christ has a somewhat feminine appearance and in the novel is described as Mary Magdalene.

2) Thirteen people at the table :

3) But how many hands are there?

Like many others before him, Dan Brown quoted the legend based on the wrong number of hands. Look carefully and you’ll see that they all belong to their proper owners.

4) A table for thirteen, please!

Here we have highlighted each pair of hands and used a number to identify which of the 13 people they belong to.1 Bartholomew, 2 James the Less, 3 Andrew, 4 Judas, 5 Peter, 6 John,7 Jesus, 8 James the Great, 9 Thomas, 10 Philip, 11 Matthew, 12 Thaddeus and 13 Simon the Zealot.

Where’s the mystery? Didn’t they say there were more hands than people? Look carefully and count again. They’re all there: Thomas has one of his hands immediately below James the Great’s left hand.

De Real facts on de Last Supper!! Part-II

5) And what about Peter and John?

In this close-up we see two apostles who seem to be in conversation. Traditionally, these are understood to be Peter talking to John and putting his hand on his shoulder to reassure him.

Dan Brown implies that, in fact, Peter’s position, with a knife nearby and his hand on John’s neck, seems to mean he is saying something like, “Behave, or you’re dead!” But what if all it means is that Peter is saying, “Excuse me, but could you pass me that piece of bread over there?” What could be more natural than to have a knife in your hand when the table is covered with food?

6) Threatening or reassuring?

Peter is resting one hand on John’s shoulder to reassure him; his other hand, with the knife, is far away and anyway, at a table full of food, you would have a knife.

Dan Brown suggests that the position is threatening, but by the looks on their faces the apostles don’t seem to be nervous or terrified. On the contrary, they both look quite relaxed.

De Last Supper.... Dan Brown is Wrong!!

As i had mentioned in my previous post about a fact i came across :

If the figure to the left of Jesus in "The Last Supper" is really Mary Magdalene, as the book claims, then Leonardo left out an apostle. If it's really John, as most art historians claim, Leonardo was neither the first nor the only artist to paint him as a beardless, long-haired young man.

1) De last Supper :

2) Later reproduction of The Last Supper :

3) Magnification of person accompanying Jesus (w.r.t. wht de so called DAN BROWN thinks) :

4) Mysterious hand holding knife :

Now wht Dan Brown is trying to say is a total Bull Shit when it comes to wht he sayz itz de truth....

"A Christian who reads 'The Da Vinci Code' and can explain to his or her friends why 'The Da Vinci Code' is wrong is a more effective Christian," he said. "As Celsus(a second-century critic of Christianity) strengthened the early church, so Dan Brown is strengthening us."

Check out wht some gr8 authors have thot abt Dan Brown and his Book :

Forty-six million readers can't be wrong, but the book they're reading might be. Excerpts from scholarly critics of Dan Brown's blockbuster:

"There were numerous mistakes, some of them howlers, which were not only obvious to an expert but also unnecessary to the plot....

Why didn't he simply get his facts straight?"

Bart D. Ehrman, "Truth and Fiction in The Da Vinci Code"

"It repeatedly misunderstands or misrepresents people, places and events."

Carl E. Olson and Sandra Miesel, "The Da Vinci Hoax"

"What is the likelihood that Jesus was married? The answer here is short - none."

Darrell L. Bock, "Breaking the Da Vinci Code"

"This is why 'The Da Vinci Code' is so dangerous. Many readers assume that all of the... detail involving Christianity is true when it is not. Rather, the few factual references are heavily interlaced with fiction or outright falsehood."

Hank Hanegraaf and Paul L. Maier, "The Da Vinci Code: Fact or Fiction?"

"... a startling number of blatant, glaring errors on matters great and small... "

Amy Welborn, "De-Coding Da Vinci"

"One can see why the issues of 'The Da Vinci Code' have people talking, arguing, searching - however... rewoven or spun out of whole cloth the religious history may be."

Dan Burstein, editor, "Secrets of the Code"

Now check out wht de real facts are with the REAL PROOF :

Next post.......coming up soon...Dont Mizz it,u will Luv It....

The Louvre

Here are some of de Pix which Dan Brown had described about. These pix are related to the Louvre Museum.

1) De Fountain :

2) Aerial view of Napoleon Courtyard and base of inverted pyramid (in lower right) :

3) Grand Gallery and parquet floor :

4) Interior view of inverted pyramid :

Some wrong facts i came across while i was trying to explore thru a lot of source, this is wht i came out with :

1) The glass pyramid at the Louvre has 673 glass panes, not 666.

2) The Dead Sea Scrolls were written by Jews and say nothing about Jesus. They were discovered in 1947, not the 1950s.

3) The irrational number Phi is not precisely equal to 1.618.

4) If the figure to the left of Jesus in "The Last Supper" is really Mary Magdalene, as the book claims, then Leonardo left out an apostle. If it's really John, as most art historians claim, Leonardo was neither the first nor the only artist to paint him as a beardless, long-haired young man.
